With a heart weighed by sorrow and a deep sense of loss, I, Hon. Engr. Toheeb Adegoke, on behalf of myself and the good people of Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, join the entire Ibadanland and Oyo State in mourning the passing of our revered monarch, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, who departed this world in the early hours of Monday, July 7th. Kabiyesi’s transition marks the end of a glorious chapter defined by wisdom, peace, cultural pride, and steadfast leadership.

Though we grieve, we also celebrate a life well spent in honour and devotion to the people. Oba Olakulehin was more than a king he was a father to all, a custodian of our heritage, and a shining light of unity across the land. May his soul find eternal rest, and may the legacy he leaves behind continue to guide Ibadanland to greater heights. Adieu, Kabiyesi. You will forever remain in our hearts.
