The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Consensus Candidate for Oyo State House of Assembly, Akinyele Constituency 2, Hon. Olalere Solomon Ajibola ERE, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the lingering and unresolved internal crisis rocking the party as the major reason for his decision.

The resignation was contained in a letter dated May 3rd, 2026, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman, Ward 12, Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State. In the letter, Hon. Olalere Solomon Ajibola ERE explained that his decision became necessary following the internal challenges and political developments within the party, alongside the need to pursue his political aspirations through another platform.

Hon. Olalere Solomon Ajibola ERE, who recently emerged as the PDP Consensus Candidate for Akinyele Constituency 2, also requested that his personal details, including his National Identification Number (NIN), phone number, email address, and every related information be removed from the party’s register and all electronic platforms to enable him move forward politically without any encumbrance.

While announcing his resignation, Hon.Olalere Solomon Ajibola ERE appreciated the PDP leadership, stakeholders, and members across Akinyele Local Government for the opportunity, support, and political experience he gained during his time in the party. He maintained that he remains grateful for the relationships and achievements recorded under the PDP platform despite his decision to part ways with the party.
