In a significant move aimed at fostering better communication and community engagement, the management of Amuludun 99.1FM, based in Moniya, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye. The visit, led by the new General Manager, Mrs. Tolulope Onafowokan, took place this morning in the Executive chairman’s office, setting the stage for potential partnerships that could benefit both the local government and the radio station.

During her address, Mrs. Onafowokan underscored the critical role of communication in community development, emphasizing how radio can serve as a vital tool for disseminating information and fostering unity. She expressed gratitude for the support Amuludun FM has received from the local government thus far, praising the Executive chairman and his team for their commitment to enhancing the station’s operations. However, she appealed for increased collaboration to ensure the station can continue to serve its audience effectively.

The General Manager did not shy away from discussing the challenges facing the station, notably the irregular power supply that has led to recent transmission shutdowns. This issue, she noted, undermines the station’s ability to maintain continuous broadcasting, a core tenet of its service. She also highlighted the inadequacy of equipment and solar energy solutions, along with the pressing need to repair some non-functional vehicle that are crucial for the station’s operations.

Furthermore, Mrs. Onafowokan introduced a specific Radio Program titled “Akinyele n se bebe,” designed to promote the local government’s goodwill and enhance its visibility in the community. She called for the local government’s support in this venture, asserting that a stronger partnership could amplify the message and mission of Akinyele LG. This initiative aims to ensure the local government’s presence is felt more profoundly among residents.

In response, The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye warmly welcomed Mrs. Onafowokan and her team, acknowledging the importance of Amuludun FM in the broader context of Oyo State. He praised Akinyele’s rapid development under Governor Seyi Makinde, citing the establishment of key facilities such as the Special Agro-processing Zone in ijaye, The Ilutuntun business Hub, the dry port, railway station as well as the burgeoning hospitality sector. The Executive chairman emphasized the vital need for effective communication to showcase these advancements and foster community engagement.

Assuring the Amuludun team of a smooth working relationship, Hon Akinwole Akinleye promised prompt attention to their requests. He recognized the role of media in shaping public perception and reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that align with the local government’s vision for a prosperous Akinyele Local Government.

Mr. Saka Lawal, the Head of News at Amuludun FM, expressed his appreciation for the Executive chairman’s support and acknowledged the commitment of the local government to the station’s operations. He appealed for a designation of specific areas where the local government could enhance collaboration, reinforcing the notion that Amuludun FM should be viewed as a key media partner in promoting Akinyele’s initiatives.

Alhaji Musibau, the Director of Admin and General Services, echoed these sentiments, calling the Executive chairman a visionary leader and expressing confidence in the bright future of Akinyele under his stewardship. The meeting concluded on a hopeful note, with both parties eager to explore avenues for collaboration that would benefit the community at large.
