Chelsea FC have been crowned champions of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup after a stunning 3–0 demolition of Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday night’s final in New Jersey.

Played at the packed MetLife Stadium in the United States, the final saw Chelsea seize control early through in-form attacker Cole Palmer, who bagged two first-half goals before João Pedro sealed the rout with a third just before halftime.

Palmer, who has emerged as the club’s star under manager Enzo Maresca, struck in the 22nd and 30th minutes, capitalising on defensive lapses by the French giants.

The 22-year-old then turned provider, assisting Pedro with a sharp pass that the Brazilian calmly buried.

PSG’s night worsened in the 85th minute when João Neves was shown a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident involving Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella.

With the win, Chelsea became the first-ever champions of the newly expanded 32-team Club World Cup and lifted the prestigious title for the second time in their history.

Speaking after the match, Chelsea boss Maresca praised his squad’s discipline: “We showed maturity and hunger. This group is young but fearless.”

The tournament also marks a shift in global club football, being the first time two European clubs clashed in the Club World Cup final, a sign of UEFA’s growing dominance.
