Good evening to our esteemed leaders, party faithful, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akinyele Federal Constituency.
In recent days, we have observed with deep concern the unpleasant exchanges, verbal assaults, and infighting among some of our members. These developments are unbefitting of our great party and the values we uphold.
I sincerely appreciate the timely intervention of some of leaders, Hon Yaro, Hon TJ, ward 8 Chairman and Hon. Olafioye Akinmoyede (Hon. Lafi), your effort is highly commendable.
As mature party members, we must eschew unnecessary acrimony and refrain from actions that bring disrepute to our political family. Unknown to many, the leaders at the helm of affairs remain close associates who share mutual respect and honor for one another. Our political leanings do not in any way interfere with these bonds of friendship and brotherhood that transcend politics.
We were disturbed to learn of incidents that escalated into physical assault and police intervention. The entire leadership of the constituency strongly condemns such behavior. Going forward, we must put an end to hatred, disrespect, and character assassination in the name of political support.
Let us be reminded that leadership is a privilege granted by divine grace. Younger members of our party are equally capable, and it is our collective prayer that they take politics and achievements beyond where we would have reached when leaving the stage. What we ask in return is a brotherly and respectful disposition, regardless of political camps or interests.
Once a winner emerges in any political contest, it is our duty to put aside acrimony and rally round to support such a candidate. For it is only God who enthrones and makes kings. OUR CONSTITUENCY LEADERSHIP IS FULLY AWARE OF THE PRINCIPLES AND STRATEGIES GUIDING OUR POLITICAL STRUCTURE, (AKINYELE/LAGELU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY) and the leaders are vociferous committed to managing these processes with wisdom, fairness, and without rancour.
We therefore appeal to all members at every level to calm frayed nerves, forgive past errors, and embrace one another in friendship. No one holds the monopoly of truth or wisdom; differences in opinion are natural and should not lead to division. Diversity, when managed with maturity, strengthens our democracy.
Together with Hon. Lafi and the leadership of our great party, we shall continue to promote justice, fairness, and cooperation within our political family. By applying wisdom and working in synergy, we will all benefit from the fruits of our collective investments and sacrifices.
Thank you and God bless.
Mogaji Hon. Adigun Hammed (Murphy)
