The Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) , Oyo State command says four persons have been confirmed dead while one person is severely injured in an accident that occurred at about 8am on Tuesday morning, at Soka Area, Ibadan axis of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The FRSC sector commander, Mrs. Rosemary Alo, stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria. Mrs Alo explained that the injured person had been taken to an hospital while the bodies of the deceased, a male and three females had been deposited at Ring Road hospital, Adeoyo morgue in Ibadan.

The accident according to Mrs Alo, involved seven vehicles, two Nissan Micra taxis, two trucks, one tanker and two Toyota Camrys. According to witnesses, all the vehicles involved in the accident were coming from Iwo Road axis of Ibadan.
As at the time of this report, the accident scene is being managed by emergency respondents who are working to rescue those trapped in the wreckage and provide medical attention to the injured person. Road users plying the axis have been advised to take precautionary measures to avoid traffic accidents.
